About the Role:

The Manager, Finance Shared Services is a newly created role which oversees the AR & AP shared service function (direct reports being the AP Manager and AR Manager). The role requires a strong focus on service delivery through collaboration with the business, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. The role will involve high-level reporting to management, identifying potential adverse risk to the business, creating and implementing mitigation strategies and being a leader in implementation.

This role reports to the Group Financial Controller, and operates in a permanent, full-time capacity at our headquarters in South Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

Controls & Compliance

• Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (Pharmacy) functions, ensuring that all compliance obligations are met
• Ensure the appropriate separation of duties in the Finance Shared Services team
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to identify and resolve control weaknesses or improvements
• Ensure the appropriate documentation is developed and maintained for all key processes
• Monitor, adapt and report on SLA’s regularly

Service Delivery

• Act as a key Business Partner across the business
• Managing the operational and commercial relationship with all shared services customers and external service providers
• Ensuring team are accountable to their operating SLAs, including regular operational reviews with key stakeholders
• Provide insight to cash flows and associated financial risk exposures, driving working capital efficiency through meeting agreed KPI’s on DSO in accounts receivable and effective management of payments

Leadership

• Manage and evaluate team performance and facilitate ongoing professional development to ensure all staff within the department are effectively engaged and motivated in the delivery of service and business outcomes
• Lead and implement a culture of innovation, service excellence, performance and safety, including investigating ways to improve effectiveness by utilising technology and automation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the service outcomes, provide advice, contribute to strategy and policy setting, planning, forecasting and projects.

Selection Criteria

• Accounting qualified (advantageous though not essential) with extensive experience in a shared services leadership role within a large dynamic organisation
• Prior experience implementing shared services within a large, complex organisation
• Healthcare industry experience preferred but not essential
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / AX
• Ability to delegate coupled with excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience with automation of transaction processes such as OCR/RPA
• Experience managing geographically dispersed and/or regionally based teams.
