About the role:

Icon’s research team have an opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join them at our global head office in South Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis. Flexible work from home arrangements are also available. Here’s your chance to join a successful and expanding organisation where your work matters.

Key responsibilities:

• End of month activities including but not limited to: bank recs, preparation of general journals and prepayments
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Assist with the formulation of accounting/business policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to and applied consistently
• Fixed Asset accounting including asset capitalisation and monthly depreciation
• Preparation of periodic GST and FBT returns

About you:

• Ability to work autonomously and in a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Ideally CPA/CA qualified
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role
• Working knowledge of tax, legislation and company law including: FBT, GST, PAYG
• High attention to detail
• Well-developed communication skills
• A willingness to learn
