Full-Time Head for Computing Department

Introduction:
Founded in 2003, ICON College of Technology and Management is a private higher education institution adjacent to the City of London and has more than 1,500 students including in BSc/BA (Hons) Top-Up courses. The College recently signed a partnership agreement with Falmouth University for a period of five years to deliver validated approved BSc/BA Hons courses. The College is also planning to deliver a Falmouth University validated MBA degree course to start next year.
The College seeks to appoint a full time Head of the Business and Management Department with the ability to manage a fast-growing department with full-time and part-time academic staff.

Job description:
The Head of the Computing Department academically leads the department and its courses (Pearson HND and Partner University validated courses) and reports to the Vice-Principal (Academic Affairs).
Main responsibilities include:
The above responsibilities are subject to change at the discretion of the Vice Principal (Academic) and Principal as they may include other responsibilities from time to time.
Additional responsibilities and involvement will include:
Membership of the Management Board and Academic Board, together with membership of such other groups and/or committees as shall be required/deemed appropriate from time to time.

The College will offer a competitive salary in the range of up to £55,000 – £60,000, depending on qualifications and prior experience. In addition, there will be 33 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays) per annum. During Christmas time, staff can either take three days holiday or have tasks assigned by their line manager. A range of work-life balance opportunities and family-friendly negotiated working arrangements are available. A 5-8% private pension contribution may also be made by the College.
