IBM Hiring for Software Developer Intern (16 months) at Markham, ON Full Time

Your Role and Responsibilities

This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 16 month work term commencing in May 2022. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a pot-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term.

The Hyper Protect team is looking for a Software Developer for our Datacenter Automation team. As a Software Developer, you will be working on automation that services our IBM datacenters that provide the core platform for all Hyper Protect services. Hyper Protect is a family of public, hybrid, private cloud services that enables the highest levels of security and confidential computing for workloads in the digital asset, financial, and healthcare industries. Our team uses Agile software development practices in an open, diverse, and supportive culture. The team has members in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Job Duties:
As a Software Developer for the ZaaS Hyper Protect Datacenter Automation team, you will

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for Datacenter deployment automation

Optimize and improve existing code

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation

Debug and troubleshoot issues

Work in an Agile environment

About the Team:
You will be a software developer applying aspects of software engineering to infrastructure and operations problems for IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services, which provides the core set of services around IBM’s Confidential Computing platform. You will be working with a growing team dedicated to listening to our clients and building the best solutions in the market.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with Unix/Linux systems, preferably

Experience with Bash, Python, Ansible, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, REST implementation and GitHub

Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools along with automation skill

Strong problem determination and isolation skill

Must be eligible to work 16 months starting in May

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Work in collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find ways to develop with cutting edge technologies

Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management

Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Ready to pick up additional skills based on business requirements

Registered in a formal co-op/internship program

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
