Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Developer you:

• Design and build key products enhancements for the data storage layer within QRadar.
• Work with a team on the Data Storage Layer within QRadar and over time become an SME in that area.
• Are experienced with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and using databases
• Collaborate with other development teams both local and remote.
• Work with Product Management on defining requirements and providing work estimates.
• Assist the Product Support team on customer issues when required
• You’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers
• You’ll employ IBM’s Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability
• Design and code servers, services, applications and databases that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven hands-on experience of building & maintaining multi-threaded Java applications.
• 3+ years development experience with Java.
• 2+ years development experience with scripting languages like Python.
• Experience of working in an Agile Development Environment, delivering solutions using an Agile / Scrum methodology
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Understanding of user and system requirements
• Familiarity with Jira
• Ability to write code that is well documented as well as structured into meaningful components and modules

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3+ Years as a Software Developer
• Experience working on big data systems that can consume up to 1 Million events per sec and build search engines that can query data across billions of rows for both analytical and needle in a haystack queries.
• Experience with using Lucene indexes.
• Experience of REST APIs.
• Linux Operating System ( Redhat ).
• SQL, Python.
• PostgreSQL.
• ETL/ELT Pipelines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
• Comprehensive overall passion for technology

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
