What You Will be Doing:

• Build (design, curate, and deliver) three asynchronous leadership development courses for current and aspiring leaders in alignment with the First Line Supervisor, Manager, and Senior Leader levels of VA’s LDF to broaden employee access to leadership development opportunities, increase leadership diversity, and improve inclusion beyond the current synchronous offerings.

• Develop and deliver a leadership speaker video series (12 recorded 15-20 minute video segments) that features current VA Senior Leaders in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that primes VHA employees on key preparatory and leadership development knowledge and skills required of those serving in more senior-level, C-suite, VHA positions.

• Develop a ten-session modular curriculum for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that primes VHA employees on key preparatory and leadership development knowledge and skills required of those serving in more senior-level, C-suite, VHA positions.

• Develop and document a comprehensive set of system requirements for the VHA Online Resource Library comprised of leadership development content from sources both internal and external to the VA, as well as a wide spectrum of other initiative-specific areas, to be used by learners and learning leaders across VHA.

Who You Will be Working with and Why it is Important:

• The Healthcare Leadership Talent Institute (HLTI) is responsible for leadership development, talent management, and succession planning for over 350,000 employees in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

• HLTI identifies, develops, and strategically manages healthcare leadership talent across VHA, with the goal of growing an engaged workforce that delivers exceptional service to our Veterans.

• HLTI is responsible for the lifecycle of an employee’s career journey within VHA, providing virtual and in person training, products, materials, and cohort based experiential development opportunities.

• HLTI’s goals are to:

• Expand the capacity of VHA leadership programs to attract and retain talent

• Enhance the leadership skills of employees transitioning into supervisory and senior leadership positions

• Implement talent management systems and data-driven succession planning practices to meet critical workforce needs.

• Partner with program offices and field leaders to build comprehensive solutions to VHA’s learning and development needs

• Provide quality workforce education and training to improve outcomes in Veteran care and overall administration

• HLTI requires a curriculum that offers VHA employees a self-study, asynchronous option for leadership development addressing competencies and developmental activities outlined at the First Line Supervisor, Manager, and Senior Leader levels of VA’s Leadership Development Framework (LDF). The leadership development content and developmental activities will be curated specifically to each level of the LDF, designed for ease of use, delivered on a VA supported platform, and include business rules that allow HLTI to sustain content curation and delivery.

What You Will Need to be Successful:

• Expertise leveraging a variety of project management tools

• Ability to handle unexpected events properly and to provide solutions.

• At least 8 years experience with bachelor’s degree or a related technical discipline

• Experience designing and creating leadership development curriculum; designing and providing system requirements for a robust Online Library Resource Center; or developing linked/cascading coding structures using systems aligned to VA technologies: R, SQL, C-sharp, or Office 365 Power Apps is preferred.

• U.S. Citizen is mandatory

Pay: $70.00 – $85.00 per hour
