IAM National Pension Fund Hiring for Pension Fund Education Representative Job at Washington, DC Full Time

The IAM National Pension and 401(k) Funds are looking for talented people to join their Education Team as Education Representatives. The Education Representatives will work closely with employer and union representatives, Plan participants, and internal staff to educate various audiences on the benefits of the IAM National Pension Fund and 401(k) Fund.

We are seeking motivated, proactive candidates with strong sales, training, or education backgrounds. This opportunity will hone your presentation skills, build a nationwide network of contacts, and challenge your creativity. You must be able to travel up to 75%, including by air, train, or personal auto.

Essential Duties

• Present on multiemployer defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, and the IAM National Pension Plan, and the IAM National 401(k) Fund
• Prepare expert-level presentations that illustrate an in-depth understanding of audience requirements on short notice using various software tools such as PowerPoint
• Effectively present information to a wide variety of audiences including union members, union representatives, and employer representatives
• Facilitate meetings for current participants about their benefits and the importance of a secure retirement
• Present information on the Plan(s) at various conferences and be able to answer time-critical queries that may be requested by the Union
• Maintain a portfolio of union and employer contacts by assigned territory. Update files and database with status of account-related issues.
• Identify, diagnose, and track Fund related issues to completion to include interdepartmental communication, status inquiries, and final follow-up.
• Continually monitor pension industry news, legislation, and the competitive retirement landscape to build and maintain competency and knowledge
• Develop and drive new education opportunities from beginning to end
• Track, maintain, enhance, and create new metrics that illustrate critical and creative thinking about the activities of the Fund and the Education Department
• Ability to create ad hoc reports for a variety of requests and situations
• Additional duties as may be assigned from management

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Ability to convey complex concepts in simple terms and provide relevant information to various parties of sizes and seniority levels
• Organized, diligent, and motivated, with a demonstrated commitment to excellent performance
• Ability to collaborate within a team and to operate independently with minimal supervision and oversight
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Excellent public speaking skills in front of a variety of audiences, from small groups to large conferences
• Outstanding customer focus and organizational skills
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment revolving around tight deadlines, quick turnaround, and multi-tasking
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license
• Undergraduate degree preferred
• Candidates must be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends in accordance with the Fund’s travel, training, and development schedule. This position requires frequent travel up to 75%
