What You’ll Be Doing

The purpose of the position is to provide a high quality service to the patients being treated by South West Sydney Hand Centre in a supervised position. To receive experience and training suitable for a future Hand Surgical Specialist.

The Unaccredited Trainee is expected to undertake advanced level training in a sub-specialty area of Plastic surgery and Orthopaedic surgery, under the supervision of specialist hand surgeons and develop complex clinical skills to become clinically proficient prior to independent practice.

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or legal entitlement to work in Australia. Overseas applicants are welcome.
• Previous Plastic Surgical or Orthopaedic experience essential. Some previous Hand Surgical experience.
• Ability to participate in afterhours and on call rosters as required.
• Demonstrated progress towards career goals in hands/plastic surgery.
• Demonstrated team work, time management and problem solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
