About The Role

• The Mental Health Centre Receptionist role is pivotal in providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of all units within the centre.
• The role is based at the main entrance and monitors all access and egress to the Centre.
• Along with switchboard and general health administration duties, the role is also responsible for coordinating weekly Mental Health Inquiry and Mental Health Review Tribunal Hearings within the requirements of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
• This is a busy and demanding role but equally rewarding, varied and interesting.

Where You’ll Be Working

• The Hunter New England (HNE) Mater Mental Health Centre is a 100-bed acute mental health inpatient facility based at the Mater Campus, Waratah.
• Although the reception area is a busy office, with staff and visitors coming and going, the role is the only position based out of the main reception area.
• There are plenty of opportunities to build close working relationships but also components of the role that allow you to work autonomously.

Additional Information

Information For Applicants

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
