About The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team of healthcare workers in the osteoporosis refracture prevention service. You will be working with medical, nursing, allied health and administrative staff in running the service. The role provides the chance to learn a diverse set of administrative & communication skills.

What You’ll be Doing To provide comprehensive secretarial, billing and administrative services to the Rheumatology Department based at Liverpool Hospital. Working under minimal supervision to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Where You’ll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How to Apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

• Hold or willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise own workload to meet both position and team requirements.
• Ability to function in a multidisciplinary team setting and also work independently with minimal supervision as required.
• Demonstrated recent experience and ability to coordinate patient/customer appointments including experience in revenue and Medicare billing processes.
• Demonstrated computer literacy and experience in working with MS Office, including data entry skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver efficient and effective customer focus service.
