About The Role

• As a referral processing service for multiple teams spread across the New England, lower Mid North Coast and the Hunter regions; the volume of work can be large at times with the complexity of multiple competing priorities occurring throughout the day/week/month.
• A strong focus on effective teamwork and efficient work practices are two of the key skill sets required, coupled with a high proficiency within databases and Electronic Record systems.
• A general day will see the correct action and allocation of incoming and outgoing referrals, ing and compliance as well as general office duties.
• Workplace training will be provided along with direct supervision throughout the day.
• The new applicant will be provided with the tools and knowledge required to complete the role including relevant manuals and processing guidelines for reference. 30 day and 90 day discussions are scheduled to ensure the successful candidate is able to discuss any issues they may be experiencing and receive feedback on their progress.

The successful applicant will be: –

• Accuracy driven and able to complete tasks with limited supervision
• An excellent team player with above average communication skills
• Able to adapt to a fast pace and ever-changing work environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Have knowledge of the My Aged Care System and an understanding of medical record compliance.

Where you’ll be working

• The Central Intake Unit (CIU) is a referral processing team responsible for maintaining the link between incoming My Aged Care referrals and the various Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) services provided Hunter New England Local Health District.
• The position is based in Tamworth, at the Hospital Campus and is Managed through Rural and Regional Health Networks.
