About Us

The John Hunter Hospital is a leading health care and innovation hub caring for the community of the Hunter, New England, and North Coast. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Surgical Services Department and work within a dynamic and busy 15 Operating Theatres unit at John Hunter Hospital. Our specialities include Ortho, Multi Trauma, Obstetrics, Gynaecological, Head & Neck, Vascular, Angiography, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, ENT and General surgery.

About The Role

• Provide administrative support to the busy Surgical Services operating theatre suites.
• Provide consistent, high quality customer service as a person of first contact including, telephone, email enquiries and personal contact with clients and our multidisciplinary team
• Whilst this role is based in our Theatres 11-15 suite, you will have the opportunity to learn other roles and backfill other roles in the event of unplanned leave.
• Learn how to code operating theatre procedures and complete daily audits and s to ensure data accuracy.
• Establish and contribute to strong positive working relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation to achieve outcomes
• Temporary Full time until January 2023, with the possibility for extension. The hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

About You

• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work activities to achieve work outcomes
• Demonstrated attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy when working with a range of computer systems and processes
• Demonstrated listening, and questioning skills applied to a customer service environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve quality service outcomes
• Ability to apply knowledge of electronic systems and computer software to achieve job outcomes
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities including covering and assisting with unplanned leave.

Information For Applicants
