The John Hunter Hospital (JHH) Admissions Service is a fast-paced working environment made up of professional team members. The team consists of Theatre and Waiting List officers, Audit Clerks, Bed Allocations, direct and day of surgery Admission Clerks, Emergency Admissions and information Desk Staff.

About The Job

  • This role requires you to have the ability to liaise with patients and visitors as well as Clinical and Executive Teams. Some of the tasks include, interviewing patients, ensuring patients are aware of their full financial consent prior to making an election choice, confirming patients’ eligibility, adding patients to the inpatient and outpatient waiting lists and customer service.
  • The role is responsible for covering a 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays.

About You

  • To be successful you must display a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times whilst working in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent attention to detail and can work both independently and collaboratively within the team. Your ability to manage competing demands and be adaptable to changing priorities will be the key to your success.
  • As a successful applicant, you will receive one on one training including online components for a period and then annually. You will be supported by the JHH Admissions Manager as well as the Team Leader and several other teams including Admissions, Bed allocation, Theatre allocation, Waiting List Clerks and Co-ordinators.

Information For Applicants

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
