Purpose
~ Oversees the workload and performance of the Sr. Associate/Assistant Manager, HR Business Partner and is responsible for the coaching, feedback and development of direct reports. The HR business partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning the business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s strategic plans, its culture and its goals
Major Responsibilities
~ Conduct regular meetings with assigned business units.
~ Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
~ Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
~ Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with support from Legal and the Sr. Manager, HRBP. Conducts effective, thorough, timely and objective investigations.
~ Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide support during the recruiting process (e.g., active participation in the interview process).
~ Consult with Compensation on the bonus, merit and promotion processes, as well as supporting the Performance Appraisal process.
~ Partner with Talent Management to provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, talent reviews and succession planning and providing support during the Competency Assessment process.
~ Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
~ Responsible for separation processes including exit interviews, employment documents, payroll coordination and meetings as employees transition out of the Company.
~ Maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the Legal department as needed.
~ Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
~ Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
~ Assist with the onboarding process in ensuring new employees know their assigned HRBP.
~ Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
~ Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Authority
~ Make independent Employee Relations-related decisions.
~ Manage and sign off on approved budget amounts.
Education
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
~ Master’s degree a plus.
Related Experience
~ Six to seven years of direct HR experience.
~ Two to three years of management experience required.
Skill/Knowledge
~ Broad knowledge of HR functions in order to exercise sound judgment in decision making.
~ Experience in Employee Relations with specific experience in grievance and conflict resolution.
~ Time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
~ Problem-solving and analytical skills.
~ Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
~ Organizational skills.
~ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
~ Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP.
Certification required
~ SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, HRBP certifications desired
Physical requirements
~ Normal office duties and overnight travel required approximately 5-10%
