General Accountabilities:
Prepare computer graphic displays depicting power system one-line diagrams, geographic displays, SCADA information displays and other displays for the Transmission and/or Distribution Systems.

Use display building software provided by NMS and/or DMS vendors to prepare displays.

Incorporate changes, updates and modifications to the displays to match Transmission and/or Distribution network changes, power system equipment changes and/or control system changes.

Link display elements to NMS and/or DMS databases to facilitate real time data retrieval and equipment control.

Ensure correctness of single-line and other displays by verifying equipment connectivity with NMS and/or DMS network database models and engineering drawings.

Maintain display version control utilizing computer scripts developed with computer scripting language.

Program application displays utilizing tabular layers which are closely linked to application databases.

Assist in the installation, testing and evaluation of new and/or upgraded display building software provided by vendors. Provide supervisor with assessments of new software.

Liaise with representatives of System Operations regarding displays and prints.

Selection Criteria:
Familiarity with OGCC Control Room operations and processes and knowledge of the NMS and DMS platforms.

General technical knowledge of power systems.

Knowledge of databases and experience with data analysis and report preparation.

Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

Professional level of oral and written communication skills.

Essential Competencies:
Requires Grade 12 plus a 3 year course of concentrated study in the appropriate subjects, or an equivalent level of education.

Requires advance knowledge of computer technology to support display modules for computer graphic displays.

Requires a knowledge of electrical theory related to power system equipment and networks.

Requires a good knowledge of data processing and database systems.

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Ability to develop cooperative relationships while interacting with others.

Ability to use keen investigative, analytical and decision-making skills.

Desire to assist others and meet their needs.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
