The Role:

This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of Melbourne’s newest five star hotel, opening in December 2021, and the only Hyatt Centric in Australia.

As the Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for General Cashiering / Accounts Payable duties. Working in a small team, you will support the Director of Finance in ensuring the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.

This is a great opportunity in a pre-opening team for someone who is willing to contribute in successfully setting up finance department and enthusiastic about learning/acquiring new skills.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Help setting up processes during preopening phase
• Independently Monitor and control the Accounts Payable process
• Assist in distributing Invoices to the appropriate approver within the document system
• Liaising with supplier to resolve any queries
• Assist to review, verify, code the invoice to the correct COA and ensure to meet all payment deadlines in compliance with hotel’s policies and procedures.
• Assist with month end closing tasks related to accounts payables.
• Working cohesively with offshore Shared Service Centre to ensure accuracy & efficiency of the finance functions.
• Counting and checking all funds remitted by all hotel cashiers
• Preparing and coordinating periodic banking to maintain a good cash flow
• Issue and return of all cashiers floats
• Issuing of petty cash
• Other duties as directed by Finance Manager/Director of Finance

About you:

• Minimum qualification required is Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting
• Previous work experience in a similar position will be of advantage
• A strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective time management skills to achieve set deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
