Hutchinson Manufacturing is seeking a Painter. This is a 1st Shift opportunity from 6 am to 2:45 pm- Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· Completes paint preparation and application assignments.
· Operate overhead hoist of jib hoist
· Enter job information into computer system
· Mix paint and operate a powered spray-painting gun
· Occasionally blast and prep parts
· Reads and interprets blue prints, written instructions and processing
· Cleans manufacturing and paint equipment with solvents when necessary
· Moves projects in and out of paint booth using fork lift truck or crane
· Assist in all Paint and shipping departments
REQUIRED SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED ON THE JOB
· Can fill out an HMI inspection plan
· Understands part staging areas for their machine/job
· Understand location of tools and where to place tools when finished using them
· Comprehend the shop traveler, understand proper method of completing work center sequence, and understand that initialing and dating signifies their agreement the work is complete and accurate
· Understand quality procedure followed if part does not meet processing work instruction or print
· Can read and understand a blueprint
· Achieve forklift certification and understands how to safely operate a forklift
· Can identify surface that may cause a poor finish (e.g.spatter, oil, rust, dust)
· Understand mixing primers and paints according to manufacturer’s specifications
· Be aware of potential coating safety hazards and the associated chemicals
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 1 year of paint preparation and application experience and/or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees must be able to cope with Minnesota climate variances, endure heat and cold conditions in the shop. Endure heavy workloads and high noise levels from hammering and grinding (hearing protection provided). Wear a protective suit and fresh air system. Protect against paint fumes, and solvents (safety glasses, safety-toed boots, respirator, and gloves provided). An air-quality system is in place.
