Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work out of their Fairfax, VA office in support of the United States Postal Service (USPS).

This is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications

Supports and / or installs software applications / operating systems

Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software

Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams

Provides technical support to project team members

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field;

or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Client requirements : A minimum of 10 years of professional service as a software engineer or similar role

Ability to analyze, design, build, test, implement, and maintain multiple integrations and provide defect resolution

Ability to build real-time streaming data pipelines using Kafka, Kubernetes, and / or APIs for multiple integrations

Experience with Java Spring Boot, Java, API experience, Kubernetes, GitHub, Kafka, Rancher, AFT, microservices, working knowledge of EDI (X12) data transfer formats

Experience with JFrog

Experience with modernizing legacy integrations

Experience in full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience working in an Agile environment

Ability to provide leadership, create and share ideas, implement best practices, and assist the Postal Service organization by creating, advancing, and sharing cost-effective ideas to help revolutionize its business

Ability to interact and coordinate with others in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years

Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years
