Hunter West Hiring for Director of Human Resources and Administration Full Time

Our client, is one of Canada’s leading law firms with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Director of Human Resources and Administration who will be a trusted strategic partner to the COO and lead the human resources practices for the firm nationally.

Start Date: Flexible
Hours: Full-time Monday – Friday, permanent employment
Work arrangements: Can be based in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, or Montreal. Hybrid remote work model supported.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a member of the firm’s Senior Management team
• Lead Administrators in all offices across Canada
• Plan and direct all HR services
• Drive employee engagement
• Provide advice, coaching, counsel, and problem solving to managers and employees
• Identify key performance indicators (KPI) for the firm’s human resources and administrative functions
• Review and negotiate related contracts and agreements
• Participate in various culture initiatives and event planning

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Business or Communications with a focus on human resources
• 10 years of progressive human resources experience in a professional services environment
• CPHR designation
• French language skills are not required but, are considered and asset
• Participative/team building leadership style
• Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
• High energy level, ability to multi-task, establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives under minimal supervision
