This is a Maternity Relief position for a period up to 12 months.
The Clinical Nurse Educator at Inverell Health Services provides support across all clinical teams within the Hospital and Community Health departments, and works closely within the Management team to ensure effective planning, support and education is given to all staff. As the successful applicant, you must be proactive and well organised to ensure a planned approach to education is provided, as well as demonstrate adaptability in order to be able to change educational directions if needed.
Inverell is an elegant and historic rural town on the MacIntyre River and is in the heart of gemstone country. The town is known as Australia’s Sapphire City, and you can try your luck at finding your own gemstones at Billabong Blue Sapphire Fossicking Park and a number of other locations around town. Inverell is approximately a 7 hour drive from Sydney and less than 5 hours from Brisbane, with flights to Sydney operating 3 days a week, and flights to Brisbane 4 days a week.
In your role, you will provide education to all clinical teams across the Hospital and Community Health Teams, including Emergency, Inpatient Medical Unit, and the Operating theatres. Support is required for nursing staff members of all levels – including nursing students, school based trainees, Post graduate registered nurses and both junior and senior registered nurses.
As the successful applicant, you will need to demonstrate that you are proactive and well organised, friendly and approachable and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the multidisciplinary teams including management on a regular basis.
All education and training will be provided to you, and you will be supported by the Inverell Hospital Management Teams.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
