Specific duties include but not limited to:

• Locate for Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
• Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill
• Assist in potholing and remediation
• Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins
• Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates.
• Perform heavy manual labor, able to lift 70 lbs on occasion
• Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.
• Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions.
• Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions.
• Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required s, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.
• Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required s (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance s, crew time logs etc.)
• Follows specifications for the job and company policies.
• Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site.
• Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.

Requirements:

• A current class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire date
