This is a part time 1099 position: around 10 hours a week to start. If the assistant assumes other duties, the hours could be increased. There will be the opportunity for a pay rate increase, under favorable conditions, 3 to 4 months after start date.

Hiring a multi tasking executive assistant at an art gallery and art import company.
The assistant will directly to the owner of the gallery/company.
This position is for candidates who like to create structure rather than those who like to have a structured environment created for them.
Duties are various, but mostly administrative.
The work is divded into two categories.
1. Recordkeeping and data entry. The assistant must have a high level of proficiency with Excel…and have some knowledge of basic bookkeeping. MUST be precise, efficient, anticipate the needs of the business. The assistant will need to access invoice and receipts on various e commerce platforms like Etsy, Facebook Marketplace and Instagram Stores, so familiarity with accessing the administrative sections of these websites will be necessary.
The assistant will be responsible for creating and maintaining inventory records for artworks. The assistant will create a customer relationship management system.
Please be familiar with credit card payment management systems such as Square.
2. the executive assistant will be responsible for managing all item/product postings within multiple Etsy stores and multiple Instagram stores, so, please have an EXPERT knowledge of both of these platforms. The assistant will be responsible for all online interaction with customers at these stores (responding to customer inquiries et al), so, please know have the ability to respond to customers and to engage them through email and in person in a polite and thorough manner.
The assistant will be responsible for managing the shipment of lightweight items sold through our online stores…this means that the assistant will bring sold items to the post office and the UPS Store and arrange for all shipment details.
The assistant will be responsible for making updates and changes to our Wordpress websites.
The assistant may be asked to manage the gallery space so highly developed interpersonal skills are necessary. Event planning experience will be very helpful: the assistant will participate in organizing all aspects of art exhibitions.
