Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of Hume City Council’s attraction, recruitment, selection and onboarding strategies to ensure strength in our employer brand, and ability to compete for the talent required to deliver on current and future operational imperatives across the business.

Strategic Leadership, Operational Recruitment, Talent Management Systems and Reporting

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Partner with hiring managers to determine talent needs, and develop and implement appropriate recruitment strategies that meet Council’s objectives.
• Educate leaders with a strong understanding of Councils workforce planning
• Streamline recruitment processes and practices
• Develop talent acquisition strategies through networking and researching to support innovative and sustainable recruitment practices and ‘best practice’ is adhered to.
• Develop sourcing strategies and build networks within hard-to-fill areas within the organisation
• Working with the People & Culture Business Partners to provide recruitment and onboarding support and advice to their client groups
• Provide coaching partnerships to equip Council leaders with end to end recruitment and career succession processes, to positively influence their recruitment practices and positively influence organisational outcomes and behaviours.
• Work collaboratively with the People and Culture team to ensure employment offers and other P&C administration is completed for a seamless handover and onboarding.
• Be a Super User of Council’s recruitment platform.
• Provide guidance for new users (hiring managers) across Council.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or a related field.
• Proven lead talent acquisition experience in comparable organisations.
•

Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on ensuring the organization can recruit people with the skills it needs to achieve competitive advantage, while also balancing its resources in order to meet short-term and long-term strategic goals.

  Excellent presentation and professional communication. Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to communicate with other people independently while providing guidance and training to others on speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner
• 
  Policy and Procedures. Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organisational strategies and objectives.
