Job Details
Position Title: Lab Technologist (specializing in advanced manufacturing).
Status: Full Time
Hours: 12pm-8pm Mon-Fri Hours may vary.
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Science and Technology
Campus/Location: On Campus North
Salary: Payband H $33.05 to $38.37
What you will do:
Reporting to the Associate Director Technical Services in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, the FAST Lab Technologist provides technical, administrative and operational support for FAST labs, shops and studios. The Technologist oversees students in labs, workshops and studios, through assistance and demonstration.
Duties include:
Ensures that students are properly trained in the operation of machinery, equipment and apparatus.
Maintains lab equipment including robotics and PLC
Ensures that students working in the labs follow safe lab procedures at all times and wears the appropriate PPE
Demonstrates and clarifies for students working knowledge of all aspects of each piece of equipment.
Prepares lab environment for scheduled labs.
Develops lab exercises, in class projects and oversees student projects.
What you bring to the role:
Education
3 year technologist diploma or equivalent in a related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 years industrial experience.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of PLC controls, robotics and robotic integration.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Able to work both independently and on a team
