About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tax Accountant to join the team at Le Cornu Lewis Hancock. The successful applicant will be someone who is passionate about accountancy and taxation, enjoys engaging with individuals from all walks of life, and thrives in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting our portfolio of clients with their accounting and taxation requirements
• Analysing and collating information required for the preparation of a full set of Financial Statements and Tax Returns
• Accurately recording financial transaction data into Accounting Systems
• Preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and SMSFs
• Preparing Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
• Having the ability to identify unusual transactions and matters that require further clarification, during these processes
• Possessing a sound knowledge and the appropriate skills to prepare cross-referenced working papers, Excel spreadsheets, and a final job checklist
• Reviewing annual statutory returns including all payroll matters, PAYG, BAS, FBT, and CGT calculations
• Identifying practical and commercial issues that should be discussed with the Client Manager/ Partners for the benefit of the client

About You

You are a Degree qualified Tax Accountant with at least 2 years’ involvement working in a similar role. You will have demonstrated experience with exposure to a variety of industries and business structures including trusts, partnerships and companies.

You will have/be:

• Able to work both autonomously and as part of the team
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and achieve strict deadlines
• Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving ability
• Detail focused, minimising errors with the ability to evaluate data and information
• Hands-on experience with all aspects of Accounting
• Sound computer skills in accounting and business programs including MYOB
• Knowledge and experience in accessing information and processing on ATO Portal
• Demonstrated ability to calculate effective trust distributions
• Experience in preparation of reports and financial analysis.

Ideally you have or are working towards your CA or CTA qualification, however this is not essential.
