About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, this position is a member of HomePlace’s Senior Leadership Team and has accountability for the development of HomePlace’s Financial strategy, standards, output and outcomes of financial and business analysis functions. This includes management responsibility for Finance/Business support staff.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner include (but are not limited to):

• Financial system administration and accounting to fulfil statutory, regulatory, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) reporting requirements.
• Providing a quality business partner service to Senior Coordinator’s including; financial reporting and commentaries, costing analysis, decision support, financial planning and budgetary control.
• To proactively coordinate engagement of HomePlace’s financial auditor
• To provide all financial and business records as required to support accurate independent audit of HomePlace’s financial transactions, practices and systems
• Timely and accurate billing/claiming transactions to the NDIA
• Conduct periodic audits of HomePlace’s payroll processes

About You

We are looking for candidates that not only have exceptional financial skills but have strong people management skills, ensuring all internal and external accountabilities relating to the organisation’s finances are met to a high standard.

You will have a high level of attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

You will have/be:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, commerce, or equivalent;
• CA or CPA qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years post-grad experience in accounting inclusive of exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and formal reporting
• Demonstrated experience in a Senior Human Resources/ Business Management/ Corporate Services or similar role
• Solid leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to engage others
• An understanding of financial, technical, risk and compliance requirements
• Working with NDIS systems, business rules and processes, ensuring compliance with all requirements of a NDIS registered provider
• Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including an ability to prepare high-level reports and presentations to board/senior level
• Demonstrated ability to operationalise legislative, statutory and contractual obligations
• Experience in successfully implementing significant changes to processes and systems

It would be great if you had:

• Knowledge and experience working with community based organisations
• Understanding of Not-for-Profit reporting requirements
• Experience working within a human services framework centred on the rights of people with disabilities
