Job Description: Schools Education Manager

Location: Flexible

Initially part-time fixed term/freelance: 3 days/24 hours p/w, initial 3 month contract with possibility to extend

Salary: 32k-35k pro-rata

Humanimal Trust’s Schools Education Manager leads the charity’s work to engage with the next generations of doctors, vets, researchers, nurses and allied professionals. We believe that humans and animals should benefit equitably from medical advances and that this can be achieved through closer collaboration between human and veterinary medicine. This One Medicine approach requires a generational shift so this role will focus on introducing children and young people from pre-school to A-Level and FE settings, before they enter established professional or educational silos, to the shared characteristics of humans and animals and how each world can benefit from the other. The Schools Education Manager will develop and roll out pilot programmes, build an educational One Medicine network and oversee the long-term development of a One Medicine curriculum. This role is at the forefront of Humanimal Trust’s efforts to make One Medicine the norm in both human and veterinary research and clinical practice, eventually making experimental animal models obsolete.
