SLR has an opportunity for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team in Guelph, Ontario who will be tasked to support various Human Resource directives. This person will be involved in all human resource aspects such as employee management, payroll, benefits administration, recruitment and onboarding. The ideal candidate will be driven, client focused, take direction and be an organized self-starter. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment while growing professionally within the field of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily HR operations such as maintaining and updating employee information, policies and procedures, compiling reports and spreadsheets
• Post job ads, organize resumes and job applications, schedule job interviews and assist in the interview process
• Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees and liaise with internal departments for new employee set up (setting up a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc.)
• Prepare new employee files by ensuring proper documents are returned (offer letters, background and reference checks)
• Oversee the enrollment and completion of benefit documentation
• Ensure payroll is approved and handled according to SLR’s procedures
• Serve as a point person for all new employee questions, as well as answer or direct current employee inquiries
• Handle termination paperwork, conduct exit interviews, and participate in training and development programs
• Assist with special HR projects and events as they arise
• Other administrative duties as required

Experience and Education:

• Post-secondary education with a degree and certification in Human Resources Management paired with 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources
• A demonstrated understanding of employment legislation: Employment Standards Act, Human Right Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Professional in approach, a team builder, self-motivated, pays attention to details, and can take initiative with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables
• Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, and respect confidentiality relating to employee data
