Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Work on custom projects as requested by Design Department Manager
2. Work on expedited projects as requested by Design Department Manager
3. Meeting with Design Department weekly to discuss how to further better that department
4. Follow Cal OSHA code requirements and CBC Code for calculating loads implied per design
5. Make calculations about loads and stresses as requested per project
6. Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately
7. Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure
8. Attend meetings with clients and Design Department Manager as instructed or needed
9. Perform site visits with Design Department Manager and/or Project Coordinators as instructed/needed to provide technical support with measurements, schematics, or other required information gathering or discovery activities as needed
10. Follow guidelines set forth by Design Department Manager and Upper Management for completing a projects documentation depending on the scope of work for a project
11. Interface with internal departments to accomplish task assignments
12. Complete engineering projects on schedule. Inspect and proofread completed work to make sure it meets company standards and requirements of the job
13. Review blueprints, plans and change orders to verify structural integrity of materials and designs, and perform complex calculations and use modeling methods to ensure correct results
14. Follow Industry standards for engineering equipment and connections to structures
15. Research existing and new material technology to determine practical applications, strength and durability expectations and cost-benefits information, and prepare material recommendations for current and future projects
16. Use AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D design documents and 3D models for individual components and overall structural plans according to client needs and project requirements for deliverables
17. Audit projects monthly to ensure the movement on the project
18. Review the adequacy of a structure as needed
19. Perform on site engineering discoveries in case the building does not have enough plans to review and confirm the adequacy of the structure
ENGINEER SKILLS REQUIRED
– Registered PE in State of California
– 3 years of work experience as a structural engineer
– Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
– Sound understanding of physics and mathematics
– Three-dimensional conceptual skills
– Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
– Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Proficient in AutoCAD

Pay: $85,473.00 – $102,672.00 per year
