Day in the Life

The Payroll Specialist will be a valuable member in a team managing the full cycle payroll for our 2,000 associates, ensuring that processes assigned are executed properly and in a timely manner. This role will be a customer focused position who provides transactional services to associates and various shareholders in the company.

The ideal candidate possesses a friendly and approachable personality, a proactive, enthusiastic attitude combined with expertise in Payroll.

What You Will Do

• Deliver execution of various Payroll operational requirements including Payroll checks, garnishment checks, ROE’s, Payroll Accounting and Payroll journal entries, mails, etc.
• Support the Payroll Supervisor with remittances and filings, Year End process including reconcile and balance year end data (EHT, WSIB, etc) and produce T4 statements accurately and timely.
• Act as the backup for offshore payroll processing team members as well as onshore Payroll Supervisor

What You Will Need:

• 1-2 Years of Payroll experience
• University Degree or College Diploma in a related program – Accounting background is considered an asset
• PCP certificate is considered an asset
• Advanced excel skills
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of shareholders
• Experience in a shared service environment and solid understanding of different relating function areas (HR, Absence, Benefits, etc.) is considered an asset
• Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM is considered an asset
