Hudson’s Bay Company Hiring for The Bay | Manager Targeted Marketing – Direct Mail at Toronto, Ontario Full Time

Day in the Life:

The Targeted Marketing Direct Mail Manager reports into the Targeted Marketing Senior Manager and will be a key contributor to building a purpose-driven brand. This individual is an analytical thinker who will partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the development and accurate execution of direct mail content from end-to-end. They will support the Targeted Marketing Senior Manager to ensure the Direct Mail program has strong strategies, customer journeys and is continually optimized through the use of analytics. They will strive to increase profitability through collaborative and measured use of integrated, multi-channel marketing practices and tools. They will derive insights from results and share recommendations with the broader marketing teams. They will serve as an advocate for targeted marketing best practices for The Bay internally. This individual will own and accelerate the personalization and segmentation strategy.

What You Will Do:

• Manage the direct mail business from beginning to end including strategy, creative development, test strategy, mail vendor management and campaign results.
• Strong briefing skills, attention to detail, and ability to partner with external vendors to ensure successful completion of campaigns in a timely manner.
• Develop and own end-to-end direct mail processes that are efficient and scalable.
• Build customer journeys/flows and develop implementation plans for new program initiatives with a focus on personalized customer relationships.
• Support the Targeted Marketing Senior Manager in developing yearly, quarterly, and monthly direct mail strategies to improve and optimize performance.
• Represent the Direct Mail stream of the Targeted Marketing team among cross-functional partnerships, presenting recommendations for program enhancements and new initiatives in order to meet goals.
• Pitch new tactics to elevate personalization and channel strategies.
• Derive insights from reports on performance metrics, analyzing results and identifying enhancement opportunities.
• Work closely with internal CRM team and vendors to ensure technical aspects are functioning.
• Develop customer segmentation strategies to determine the targeted audience for each message.
• Collaborate with the Targeted Marketing Analyst to develop and execute test plans for key channel components with a champion/challenger approach;  Create and implement A/B tests, analyze findings and apply learnings for future campaigns.
• Measure campaign performance through KPIs and provide recommendations for direct mail circulation.
• Analyze data, present findings to upper management and make strategic recommendations for future marketing campaigns and initiatives to help optimize campaign performance and ROI.
• Work with the Targeted Marketing Senior Manager to analyze channel and customer data in order to draw insights and make recommendations for driving business results through campaign optimization.
• Identify ways to optimize and streamline the current Direct Mail program process as it relates to this.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience in Direct Mail at a retailer or agency
• In-depth understanding of key performance metrics and the ability to recognize how they might impact the business
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Proficient in Excel (including creating pivot tables/advanced formulas) Word, PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to build cross-channel relationships and influence key business partners with a respectful, can-do attitude
• Strong analytical and thought leadership skills 
• Hyper aware of Direct Mail marketing trends, best practices, and technologies
• Hands-on experience working with analytical tools (Adobe Analytics preferred)
• An understanding of offset and digital print specifications, and mailing regulations
• Ability to multi-task, capable of managing many projects and priorities simultaneously
• Clear and direct communication skills both oral and written
• Digital marketing experience would be a nice to have
