Hudson’s Bay Company Hiring for Lead, Design Systems at Toronto, Ontario Full Time

Day in the Life:

The Design System Lead, leads the creation of the single source of truth (Design System) for all digital design and development at the Bay. The Design System focuses on scaling up the Product design team capacity through improving the maker’s journeys.

What You Will Do:

• Leads the creation of the Design System at The Bay serving its customers through maker’s journeys
• Builds reusable system assets such as components, icons, font systems, layouts, data visualizations, colour systems, micro-interactions for all digital touchpoints. –
• Monitors the design system adoption, efficiency, maturity, product backlog, and return on investment
• The creation of 10+ maker’s journeys such as Get a Component, Find an Icon, Contribute an Asset, Use a Layout, Visualize Data, and Find a Principle
• Creating shared value for shoppers, vendors, sellers, and employees through experiences that drive enjoyment, happiness, and fulfillment. –
• Key partners: product owners, designers, developers, OKR champions, and customers.

What You Will Need:

• 7+ years of experience in designing web and mobile interfaces.
• Strong design portfolio that demonstrates vision, innovation, and storytelling.
• A track record of creating large-scale design systems
• Solid understanding and experience applying fundamental design principles in visual design, interaction design, information architecture and accessibility
• Solid understanding of user interface frameworks such as Material Design and Ant Design.
• Digital retail or related experience is a strong asset.
• Solid knowledge of the web, iOS and Android user interfaces.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
