Hudson Hiring for A07 Finance Manager Job at Brisbane Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a suitably experienced A07 Finance Manager to join our government client on an initial 6-month basis with an immediate start.

THE ROLE

You will contribute to the delivery of financial management related activities and will lead the team to successfully deliver month and year-end accounting processes ensuring best practice at all time. Utilising your existing knowledge of relevant accounting standards & government accounting policies you’ll assist with the preparation of regular internal and external financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the monthly and financial year end accounting processes, including the general ledger reconciliations.
• Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Government Financial Reporting Requirements.
• Co-ordination and preparation of the annual operating budget, including ongoing budget maintenance and accurate monthly forecasting.
• Prepare special purpose financial reports, budget submissions, briefing notes, presentation, documents and correspondence on a range of complex finance issues.
• Provide business focussed financial management and financial performance information, including budget variance analysis to management, business units and other stakeholders.
• Building effective working relationships across the organisation to ensure all policies, procedures and processes are consistent and in line with organisation wide policies.
• Contribute to a change management and performance development culture across the unit by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your supervisor and team members.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Finance/Accounting (or related) degree qualified & CA/CPA qualified.
• Prior experience leading a small finance function of approx. 5 qualified team members
• Well organised, self-starter who can manage a range of competing priorities and projects.
• Able to interact with and influence at all levels including senior management and directors.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability proactively seek out solutions in a practical manner.
