POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Services, the Education Site Supervisor is responsible for the implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of all teaching staff on site. Assist in the professional growth and development by coordinating and conducting staff training. Also responsible for the upkeep of personnel files, to ensure they are aligned with the requirements set forth by our regulatory agencies. The Education Site Supervisor should have a commitment to the mission of Hudson Guild, and a desire to support a high-quality educational environment that fosters the development and empowerment of children and families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Education Site Supervisor must have at minimum a BA in Early Childhood Education, certification in Early Childhood Education required (NYS Birth-Grade 2), and a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years supervision experience
NYS Birth-2nd Professional.
Knowledgeable on city and stage policy regulations (i.e. HSPPS, HSELOF (birth-5) Article 47)
Experience working in a non-profit or community center setting
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Address any questions or concerns of parents/guardians in regards to their child’s needs
Assist in supervising and monitoring personnel files of all teaching staff
Collaborate with Health and Disabilities Manager in assisting teaching staff with referrals and provide support to teaching staff when working with challenging behaviors and situations
Monitors and supports the instructional development of all teachers in understanding DOE’s Unit of Study and varied assessments tools (ECERS-R/ITERS-R/CLASS-Toddler/Pre-School), and data analysis (Cognitive Toy Box)
Monitors the collaboration and implementation of instructional goals led by the Instructional Coach that identifies teachers in need of support, including opportunities to be observed and receive feedback and modeling of effective teaching practices directly related to program performance goals
Monitors the progress of teachers promoting best practices in early childhood development based on Head Start Performance Standards, Article 47, 3K and Pre-K For ALL, Creative Curriculum, and DOE Quality Standards
Responsible for monitoring and analyzing the implementation of The Creative Curriculum and assessment tools (i.e. Teaching Strategies Gold, Brigance screening)
Analyzes data, lesson plans, anecdotal, operational plans, and goals to ensure activities and programming is relevant, strategic and appropriate
Ensures that the program meets agency, federal, state and local compliance regulations
Work closely with the Mental Health Consultant, Health/Disability Coordinator and teaching staff to identify children with suspected developmental/social-emotional delays to facilitate referrals to Early Intervention (EI) or the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
Provide insight and support on staffing needs and disciplinary action
Support Director of Early Childhood Services in coordinating and conducting staff trainings
Review and approve time sheets, as well as requests for leaves of absence
Manage and schedule teaching staff
Participate in our weekly interdisciplinary meeting, monthly professional developments, and other trainings as needed
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
