Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Human Resources (HR) Transformation Consultant, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

The Human Resources Transformation Consultant (HRTC) will be accountable for the successful delivery of HR priority project(s) and ensuring effective tracking of benefits realisation (where applicable). Projects may be standalone or part of a wider programme of activity and may be located in project teams as well as BAU teams. HRTCs may work with other Consultants and may have teams reporting into them depending on the nature of the project role e.g. Business Analysts, Programme Management Office (PMO) staff or admin support staff.

In this role, you will:

• Define the project approach, build stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes
• Manage project delivery proactively, balancing planning, scope, schedule, budget, communications and risks
• Define resource needs, responsibilities and schedules
• Work with project controls and procedures
• Work with established quality assurance processes ensuring adherence to the group business transformation framework
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
• Provide guidance and maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Knowledge of HR departments and Global Service Owned areas / HR Centre of Excellence
• (CoE), including HR core platforms and processes
• Strong understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behavior’s, processes and objectives
• Good understanding of project management in the context of transformation
• Knowledge of key project risks and considerations
• Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
• Knowledge of the Global businesses and broad understanding of the role of HR in an organisation
• Experience in operating in a project manager or implementation manager role across a multi-discipline HR portfolio
• Experience in insights gathering, analysis idea / options generation, and with little or no guidance provide solution recommendation and convert options / requirements into relevant work products or project plans / approaches
