HSB Technical Looking for Structural Designer at London Full Time

Rate: £40 p/h (Umbrella)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a number of Structural Designers to join and work with my client’s Marine Technical Support team and support the structural design and analysis for new-built naval vessels.

In this role we see the successful applicant act as part of the technical support team delivering key consultancy expertise in all engineering matters relating to the build.

This role is home-based but you will be required to visit the site to undertake training.

Duties and responsibilities

• Establish standards, design approach and manage the technical analysis of maritime structures and foundations.
• Experience in maritime design.
• Undertaking FEA for structural analysis in support of the projects
• Providing subject matter advice to your project
• Assist on Proposals and Business development opportunities.
• Monitor and report on project scope and budget.
• Participate (actively) in the training and development on site.
• Provide quality reviews of drawings and calculations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in the Maritime / Shipbuilding industry.
• Clear involvement and project history of the design of New Build vessels (Defence or commercial)
• Ship design and analysis skills – Structures, general arrangements and documentation (class, flag etc.)
