Applications are invited for the post of Human Resources Operations Adviser in the Department of Human Resources.
Working in conjunction with rest of the Human Resources Operations team the post holder will use their strong human resource and demonstrable employment law knowledge to provide, on a day-to-day basis, the provision of an effective, proactive operational human resources service, providing advice and Human Resources transactional services.
In addition, they will help provide a day to day proactive, innovative and effective recruitment and retention service.
The post holder will provide, advice and support to managers, employees and colleagues on human resources matters ensuring that the advice given is consistent with the rest of Human Resources and compliant with University policies and procedures, good human resources practice and legislation. The post holder will need direct applicable knowledge of a wide range of human resources to undertake this role and will need the ability to effectively work independently as well as part of a wider team.
The post holder will use a range of human resources systems including the University’s Human Resources and Payroll system, ResourceLink, and on-line recruitment system, Stonefish, inputting data, providing advice and support on the grading of posts using the University’s formal job evaluation scheme, HERA, and generating and signing documentation where applicable. The postholder will be a member of the Human Resources Operations team inputting and leading on, as applicable, project and process work as directed. The post holder will be required to be based on campus for two days per week.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong human resources operations experience and advisory skills and their application, excellent attention to detail and significant working knowledge of employment law. Experience of successfully using an online HR and Payroll and online recruitment system are required for this role together with a good understanding, and ideally application of a recognised job evaluation scheme. Some experience of designing and improving policies and processes and successfully implementing improvements is required for these positions together with a good working knowledge of rewards and benefits matters.
