Mechanical Assembler

• Salary Up to £30,000 pa, plus bonus & generous benefits

• Location: Saffron Walden, Essex – Applicants will need to be able to travel to the clients site
• Own transport required due to the location

Mechanical Assembler is required by long established innovative scientific equipment manufacturer based in Saffron Walden.

This exciting role involves working within the Production Team, assembling world class scientific products for UK and international customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual interested in further developing their career with a well-established manufacturing company

About the job:

This Mechanical Assembler role will involve the assembly of all in-house assembled products, and any other activities to support Production:

• Mechanical & electro-mechanical assembly, with the assistance of detailed manufacturing method files
• Ensuring that necessary quality & performance checks & tests are carried out during the assembly process, following detailed procedures
• Completing all necessary process documentation associated with the assembly & testing of products
• Support the trouble shooting any issues with components or assembled products
• Help to identify areas for improvement in current assembly processes, procedures and work flows
• Participate and support continuous improvement, lean and 5S activities to maximise productivity
• Assistance in testing of existing and new products for QA, troubleshooting etc.

General:

• Assisting with the assembly & testing procedures & documents

• Participate and support continuous improvement

• Close liaison with members of the Supply Chain team to ensure that necessary sub-component stock levels are adequate

• Working with the R&D team in the handover of new assembled products

• Assistance in testing of existing and new products for QA, troubleshooting etc.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Worked within a mechanical assembly environment

• Strong practical skills with the capability to carry out assembly tasks

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings

• Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word and Excel
