This is a great opportunity for an experienced cloud engineer interested in providing key contributions in a growing business. You will be joining HP’s Personal Systems group to help deliver world class hardware and software solutions to HP’s Workstation customers. The candidate will join the team delivering software solutions to data science customers via Amazon and Microsoft cloud platforms.

This position is located in Fort Collins, Colorado.


Responsibilities

  • Deploy software products to AWS and Azure Marketplaces
  • Create and maintain cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop CI/CD infrastructure and tooling on AWS and Azure (Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild, Azure Pipelines)
  • Work with teams of talented software engineers to define, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure including CI/CD systems and software product deployments.
  • Work with teams of talented systems engineers and industry suppliers, provide technical leadership and consulting to help make the right technical choices in defining the future


Critical Competencies

  • Capable of building cloud infrastructure to deliver software on Amazon and Microsoft cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of networking and security infrastructure on AWS and Azure
  • Proficient with version control systems (Git/Github)
  • Familiar with software packaging technology (Apt, MSI, NuGet)
  • Comfortable using Agile/Scrum development framework
  • Excels at working in a rapidly evolving and fast paced environment
  • Leadership: Demonstrates leadership in the development of technical innovations and in ensuring optimum collaboration and knowledge sharing of technical insights
  • Project Leadership & Troubleshooting: Actively works to resolve project challenges and facilitate knowledge transfer between team members focused on shared objectives
  • Change Management: Develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization
  • Problem Solving: Approaches problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Linux OS, Ubuntu, and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL/WSL2)
  • Knowledge / experience with Microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with development trends in cloud native applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex technical content to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems


Desired Skills

  • Distributed systems/protocols
  • Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies
  • Cloud compute platforms (Google Cloud Platform in particular)
  • Hands-on CI/CD skills (Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild, Azure Pipelines)
  • Proficient in writing Python, Javascript, and BASH scripts
  • Networking protocols and topologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, REST, DNS, SSL/TLS)


Education/Experience

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience as Cloud Engineer/performing duties of Cloud Engineer

The estimated range of compensation for this job at the time of this posting is $90,000 – $120,000. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
