Assistant/Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences

TWO POSITIONS: Assistant or Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences full-time, tenuretrack, nine-month fiscal year appointment in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences in Community Nutrition and Experimental Nutrition.
The candidate will be assigned to teach any of the following undergraduate/graduate courses, and/or other courses to be determined:
- Introduction to Nutrition (Fall & Spring Semesters); Community Nutrition (Undergraduate
& Graduate); Nutrition Policy (Undergraduate & Graduate); Social Determinants of Health;
Field Placement in Health Education; Evaluation of Nutrition Status (Fall & Spring
Semesters); Graduate Seminar/Expository Writing (Fall & Spring Semesters); Micro/Macro Nutrients; Courses in Experimental Nutrition; Food Science
Additional responsibilities of the position include scholarship and service as detailed in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Criteria for Appointment, Reappointment and Promotion of Faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for the position the applicant must:
- hold an earned doctoral degree in nutrition or closely related field at the time of application;
- have more than five years of work experience in this field, achieved a record of publications in refereed journals, demonstrated teaching excellence, assumed leadership roles in professional organizations;
- possess superior written, oral and interpersonal communications skills needed to work with diverse student, faculty, and preceptors;
- have a desire to create and sustain a culture of student support and success;
- provide a record of scholarly activity, the potential to advance in the field of research, and have some university level teaching experience and publications in refereed journals;
- have a minimum of three years professional experience post credentialing, including experience in working in community-based settings on nutrition/health issues
- demonstrate scholarly activity commensurate with Associate Professor or higher;
- possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office Suite Programs (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and MS Outlook;
- have online teaching experience; and
- be able to work as a team with administrators, fellow faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
