Utility Excavator Operator

Job description

Local family owned Sitework and Underground Utility Company is seeking to hire an Excavator Operator for installation of Underground Utilities on Industrial, Commercial, and Residential Projects. Must have experience installing Sanitary Sewer, Potable Water, Fire Main, Electrical Conduit, and Storm Drainage pipe.

Job Responsibilities

The excavator operator will operate the machine to assist with all aspects of underground utility installation. Conduct trench work so that it meets OH&S requirements. Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade. Work with ground personnel in the excavation and follow directions of ground crew regarding lifting, gravel placement and grading. Will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience Operating Excavator digging in or around existing utilities
• Operate machine(s) daily in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform daily pre/post operating checks on equipment and any malfunctions to the Foreman.
• Driver’s License (Preferred)
• Ability to work independently and work well with others.
