Housing Australia is an independent corporate Commonwealth entity, dedicated to improving housing outcomes for more Australians, and will be responsible for facilitating 40,000 new social and affordable homes under the Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord.
Housing Australia arranges funding for community housing providers and new housing infrastructure projects through the Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA) and National Housing Infrastructure Facility (NHIF). We also support home ownership by administering a number of Home Guarantee Schemes, and produce strategic housing data and insights. Housing Australia was previously known as the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC).

About the role
ing into the Director, Major Programs this role is primarily responsible for the implementation of activities relating to our major housing programs under the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) and National Housing Accord (Accord).
Key responsibilities
· Oversee various aspects of the procurement/application processes.
· Collaborate and ensure effective commercial practices through the above processes.
· Make initial assessments of project feasibility on proposed social and affordable housing projects.
· Engage with developers, community housing providers and government agencies.
· Assist in the negotiation of contract documentation in conjunction with legal team.
· Provide leadership and support to internal teams and consultants/contractors.
Skills and experience
· Strong skills in commercial negotiations and broad understanding of project delivery, gained in a residential property developer, community housing provider, government agency or similar.
· Solid understanding of procurement or grant processes, ideally in government or bidding
· Broad understanding of project feasibilities, legal and financial structures, residential development construction and delivery.
· Strong stakeholder management skills
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Experience with procurement, contracts and associated commercial documentation, preferably in a residential development or construction context.
· Tertiary qualification in either law, commerce, construction, property or similar.
