About the Role:
The House of Commons is currently looking to staff the Administrative Assistant position.
The House of Commons Procedural Services offers a broad range of procedural and legislative advice to the Speaker, Members, and officers of the House of Commons. Procedural Services also conducts research, offers training on parliamentary practice and procedure, and coordinates Members’ participation in international and interparliamentary activities. This service area provides timely and accurate parliamentary information in both official languages, such as through the transcripts of debates in the House and the minutes of committee meetings.
The Administrative Assistant provides specialized administrative and logistical services to a Clerk Assistant, Principal Clerk, Deputy Principal Clerk, Procedural Clerk or other within a designated branch/directorate in order to ensure the smooth functioning of key services. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: drafting communications, budget tracking, managing calendars, managing email correspondence, minute taking for various meetings, travel arrangements, proofreading and editing data, information management, publishing information on the web, etc.

Candidates will be evaluated against House of Commons Administration Competency Framework – Administrative Support.
Outcome
Staff the position of Administrative Assistant on a determinate basis (temporary) or indeterminate basis (permanent). Create a pool of potential candidates that may be considered to staff future vacancies for this position or for other similar and/or related positions on an indeterminate and/or determinate basis. Consideration may be given to candidates with other linguistic profiles.
