The Opportunity

This role is initially offered as a 6-12-month contract with the opportunity to become permanent for a high performer. This national cultural institution is a workplace of choice, with a great working culture and good opportunity for career progression available. You will have the opportunity to work under a leading commonwealth CFO and a high performing Director who will support your career. They have a small finance team that work closely together and with the broader organisation as well.

The Role

As part of your key responsibilities, you will:

• Assist and prepare monthly financial accounting journals, work papers and reconciliations
• Manage non-financial assets accounting requirements
• Responsible for the administration of tax obligations
• Assist with month-end variance reports with correction journals or assistant to line-area managers
• Complete CBMS external reporting requirements regarding financial reporting
• Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements
• Ad-hoc finance duties when required including process improvements

The Ideal Person

Ideally, you will be a degree qualified Accountant with around three years’ experience working in financial accounting within government or a large commercial organisation. Whilst this is preferred, those with a background in audit and management accounting will also be considered. You will also have completed your CA/CPA or have strong progression towards. As this is a small finance team, you will be a real team player and enjoy helping your colleagues out when workloads are high.

Big4 accounting backgrounds will be very highly regarded, as will experience with TechOne.

Salary / Rate

• $80K – $90K + Super
• 6 – 12-month contract
