Horizon Studios Inc. Hiring for Full Stack Developer – Remote at Toronto, ON Full Time

We are looking for an intermediate Full Stack Developer responsible for delivering world-class solutions to Horizn’s global customers. This position is designed for a highly motivated developer, who has high attention to detail and strives for customer satisfaction. This remote position is for a full-time opportunity but we are open to freelance/contract work. You will be working closely with our team and client-side back-end developers on a variety of customer websites and tools

What You’ll Do

Deliver: Work within time constraints to meet deadlines. Identify and communicate issues with project deliveries. Everything from front-end UX improvements to broad structural changes

Design and Develop: Work in a cross-functional agile team environment to design and develop new features, enhance existing ones, troubleshoot reported issues, setup client sites and add content, when needed

Communicate: Work with project management, product management, quality assurance and other developers to complete assigned projects and other weekly objectives

Ensure Quality: Produce unit test plans to demonstrate understanding of the required results and test individual projects. Develop integration and automated unit tests. Participate in code reviews, and apply software development best practices

Who You Are

An Intermediate developer who can pick up any technology quickly and is comfortable jumping into platforms and various code bases. Ideally, you have:

BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience

3-5 years of experience building web applications

Thorough knowledge and experience with PHP (Laravel), MySQL, JavaScript (React, jQuery), HTML&CSS

Solid understanding of web technologies including HTTP, RESTful services, and cloud platforms such as AWS

Familiar with basic data structure and algorithms

Preferable experience with writing PHP unit test and Behat framework

Proficient with GIT

Strong coordination and communication skills both verbal and written

Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision both individually and within a group

Ability and desire to develop processes and procedures where none exists

Self-starter who has initiative and is eager to learn

Proactive in finding information and solutions and a real problem solver
