Job Summary for Mechanic Position:
Performs regular maintenance on machines, production equipment, assembly jigs and fixtures, all related manufacturing equipment, building and property. Uses electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, advise or repair equipment. Fabricate when required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots and repairs issues related to manufacturing and all related plant equipment.

Ensures optimal operating conditions are maintained through the application of general technical knowledge, production expertise and safe work practices

Assists with suggesting/scheduling regular preventive maintenance, assists with machine parts inventory

Reduces production losses and repair costs by inspecting and monitoring equipment for early detection of potential maintenance problems. Recommends ideas and creates solutions for increased productivity and enhanced quality

Assists with machine, jig and fixture set-ups to create quality parts and achieve maximum production results

Experiments, analyzes, modifies and implements improvement techniques for improved quality and reliability of production equipment

Assists in the development of new products and the design and occasional fabrication of specialized tooling and production equipment

Produces detailed new and replacement parts for machines and equipment which involves the proper and safe use of all machine shop equipment such as saws, drills, lathes, surface grinders, milling machines, welders, hand tools and precision measuring devices

Attends seminars and trade events as required

Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Community College diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent

Good problem solving and interpersonal, skills

4 + years experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical

Fabricating experience is an asset

Lift Truck Certification is an asset

Computer literate

Be willing and able to work any shift, when required as we are 3 shift operation
