Hoop Human Resources Hiring for HR Manager at Merthyr Tydfil Full Time

Hoop Human Resources are supporting a Manufacturing organisation in Mid Glamorgan with the search for a HR Manager.

This is a site based role that will have the responsibility for enacting the overall strategic HR management for the business. This position will provide the candidate an opportunity to make a difference and play a pivotal role in improving HR-related issues moving forward.

The role will required to maintain a comprehensive HR service across the full employee lifecycle, and provide support and guidance to Managers on all employment law matters, employee welfare, and employee-related challenges within the local environment as well as introducing policies and best practice.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop strategies which focus on staff development, succession planning, mentoring and talent attraction and retention
• Create Structure – review roles and responsibilities within the company structure, and create accountability by managing performance reviews and individual targets and bonuses
• Develop HR policies and procedures and update existing documents in line with current UK employment law.
• Recruitment & selection – all aspects of recruitment from advertising, arranging interviews, pre-screening, medicals and offers; through to contracts, inductions and on boarding for new starters
• Manage employee relations casework including, but not limited to, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, flexible working requests, performance management and redundancy
• Absence management – implement Company procedures for dealing with short-term absence and managing long-term absence up to and including capability dismissals
• Management reports – produce monthly reports on absence, staff turnover, overtime etc and produce ad-hoc reports requested by Managers/Director.
• Produce annual budget reports for headcount, wages, salaries and overtime.
• Responsible for overseeing preparation of weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring the individual preparing the calculations/reports (who reports into this HR manager) produces deliverables in an accurate and timely manner.
• Conduct regular HR GDPR audits
• All other reasonable tasks within the scope of the role

Qualifications/Experience required

• CIPD qualified to level 5 or above
• Relevant degree desirable (ideally within manufacturing or similar enivornment)
• Previous HR experience in a similar role with strong working knowledge of current employment law, HR systems, policies / procedures
• Strong Microsoft Office skills – intermediate/advanced excel skills are essential
