Summary:

The Budget and Finance Office of Hood River County is seeking to fill a full-time Finance Accountant role. This position will work closely with the Director of Budget and Finance performing work such as maintaining a balanced general ledger, preparing accounting entries, compiling and analyzing account information, documenting financial transactions, preparing journal entries and substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.

This position will be responsible for reviewing grant documents, documenting payments and expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, managing the grant database, engaging with grantors, and preparing both progress and final financial reports. This role will assist the Director and auditors with the annual audit. Additional duties will include maintaining the fixed asset register and resulting financial reporting. Flexible work arrangements possible.

Skills:

· Ability to analyze budgetary or accounting data, prepare journal entries and coordinate regulatory documentation activities

· Ability to develop sound recommendations that work with governmental generally accepted accounting principles and regulations at federal and state levels

• Advanced or expert level Excel skills

Knowledge:

The selected candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited program and have a minimum of 2 years hands on experience in accounting in a financial office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $4,576.00 – $6,929.00 per month
