Primary Objective of the Accounting Supervisor:

Responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting supervisor is responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.

Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

• Coordinate and review staff daily workload
• Provide training to new and existing staff as well as performing annual staff evaluations
• Manage and supervise daily operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, payroll tax and related benefits
• Assist Director of Finance & Property with issuing timely and complete financial statements as well as other internal and external reporting requirements

• Participate in coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

Accounting Supervisor Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3 years of experience in accounting
• Understanding of accounting software applications; experience working in Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains preferred
• Efficient organizational skills
• Must have the ability to work in a changing and challenging environment
• Must have ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines

Accounting Supervisor Compensation and Benefits:

Pay: $62,000 – $67,000
