Homebase Hiring for Finance Manager Job at Remote Full Time

As our newest Financial Accounting and Control Manager, it will be your job to decide what “better” looks like and to set out a plan that helps ensure we get there, as quickly as possible.

Job Title: Financial Accounting and Control Manager

Contract: Perm, Full Time

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday (8 am – 4 pm OR 9 am – 5 pm). Flexible working options may be available, depending upon individual circumstances.

Location: Milton Keynes, however, we operate a flexible policy which means that you decide what works best for you! If that means working from home, then work from home. If you prefer to work in an office, a store, or one of our distribution centers then you’re more than welcome to! For this particular role, we ask that you be available to visit our Milton Keynes, Store Support Centre for a minimum of 2 days per week – this may increase to 3/4 days per week for short periods in the run-up to our peak season.

Salary: In return for your hard work we’re offering a competitive base salary of £70,000 – £80,000 (this may be negotiable, depending on experience) plus an additional, generous bonus earning potential*

Role Purpose:

• To produce consolidated and entity-level management and statutory accounts in a timely and compliant manner
• To support the execution of the external audit process
• To establish a robust financial accounting and business control and compliance framework
• To help deliver effective balance sheet management for the business
• To ensure capital spending is controlled and accurately reported promptly
• To ensure compliance with HMRC on taxes outside of Corporation tax and Import tax.

Key Responsibilities:

• To coordinate the development of appropriate financial policies and controls in support of the Company’s changing objectives.
• To produce month-end financial statements and analysis
• To lead and support the development and setup of the Financial systems to meet financial reporting needs and timetable
• To help teams in establishing effective cash & balance sheet controls and compliance reporting
• To support and deliver an effective and efficient external audit process
• To manage and support the control/sign-off of capital to ensure spending is controlled and recorded accurately.
• Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc work where necessary.

About You:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Extensive financial and management accounting experience
• Medium/large business experience
• Some tax accounting knowledge
• Extensive financial accounting skills required to be able to produce consolidated group accounts and deconsolidated entity-level accounts.
• Ability to translate new financial accounting developments into relevant operational guidelines/tools for the business
• Excellent business process end-to-end analysis skills.
• Ability to communicate issues and processes to senior stakeholders where relevant
